Unitary Coils are mainly manufactured as replacements for original
equipment and are generally regarded as those within casings or enclosures.
An infinite range of sizes are available to suit almost any application
with connections positioned to match the existing pipework.HVAC unitary equipment can represent:-

  • Central station air handling units.
  • Heating and cooling units.
  • Unit heaters.
  • Fan coil units.
  • Packaged air conditioners.
  • Refrigerant condensers.
  • Dry air coolers.
  • Heat reclaim systems.
  • Industrial unitary equipment is associated with many processes
  • Product conveyor drying.
  • Textile and laundry treatment.
  • Power generation.
  • Transportation.
  • Food processing.
  • Heat recovery.

Unitary Coils can be designed for operation with hot water, chilled
water, steam and a variety of direct expansion refrigerants. They are
usually arranged for ‘contra-flow’ to give the maximum performance and
are suitable for either vertical or horizontal airflow.

There is a wide range of matrix options with 3/8”, 1/2” or 5/8” O.D.
copper primary tubes and fin spacing from 4 to 6 per inch. Fins are
available in aluminium, vinyl coated aluminium, copper or tinned copper.

Casing designs vary from
simple end plates, as detailed in the illustration, to complete
enclosures. There are a number of material options which include
galvanised sheet steel, stainless steel, aluminium and brass.
All Unitary Coils are subject to an air under water test of 2000 kPa. In
some applications where higher working pressures or extreme temperatures
are involved coils can be tested up to 3500 kPa or twice their working

Coils with a galvanised steel casing are generally supplied unpainted
but special finishes are available on request.
